Oregon lets you qualify on 500 hours if your wages fall short
Oregon offers two independent routes into the system: a wage test, or 500 hours of employment in the base period. The hours route means part-time and low-wage work can establish a claim even when total earnings would not.
- Either wages or hours. Base-period wages above $1,000 and above 1.5 times high-quarter wages, OR 500 hours of employment in the base period.
- The weekly range is $204 to $872. Both the floor and the ceiling are near the top of the national table.
- 1.25% of base-period wages. Like Kentucky, Oregon reads the whole year rather than a peak quarter.
- Part-time work: the greater of a third of the weekly amount or $163 is ignored. That $163 floor is one of the largest fixed disregards anywhere, and it protects lower-benefit claimants who would gain little from a percentage.
- The claim total is the lesser of a third of base-period wages or 26 times the weekly amount, with a duration range starting at a single week.
