Massachusetts pays longer than any other state, and does not cap dependants
Two features put Massachusetts at the edge of the national range. Duration reaches 30 weeks where almost every other state stops at 26, and the dependants' allowance has no ceiling — the federal table records both the minimum and the maximum with the explicit note "no cap on DA".
- Up to 30 payable weeks. The maximum benefit amount is the lesser of 36% of base-period wages or 30 times the weekly benefit amount, giving a range of 10 to 30 weeks.
- Half your average weekly wage, plus $25 per dependant, uncapped. Because the allowance is not limited by a fixed number of dependants, the published $1,105 maximum is itself qualified as having no cap on the dependants' portion.
- Qualifying takes 30 times the weekly amount and at least $6,300. Expressing the wage test as a multiple of the benefit rather than a flat dollar figure means it scales with the claimant's own earnings.
- An employer is covered after 13 weeks. Most states use a 20-week test; Massachusetts brings employers into the system sooner.
- Part-time work: one third of the weekly amount is ignored.

The report states it is not an official interpretation of state UI laws, so treat these provisions as a cross-check on the Department of Unemployment Assistance determination rather than a replacement for it.
